Class Booking FAQs

Q: I’m new to your studio and so excited to take class! Do you have any welcome offers for new clients?

Yes! We offer two Reformer classes for the price of one to welcome all of our new clients to our movement family. The intro offer expires 45 days after purchase.

Q: This is my first time ever trying Pilates! What should I know before booking/ attending my first group class?

First time clients with no prior Pilates experience are required to sign up for at least one Fundamentals class or one private session before booking our Open Level classes. This is important, as our Fundamentals class acclimates you to the many moving parts of our Pilates reformer machines, and teaches you the fundamentals of the Pilates repertoire. This starter class will ensure that you are starting and continuing your Pilates journey with the strongest foundation possible, so that when you DO book an Open Level class, you have the knowledge and confidence for the most fulfilling and fluid experience possible!

If this your first reformer class, please arrive a few minutes early for a brief onboarding on how to set-up your reformer.

Q: How does the waitlist work?

A full class will say "waitlist" if all of the spots are taken. Please double check the class status when you book. You can choose to join the waitlist, in case a slot opens (they often do)! If a spot opens up for you and you are added into the class, you will be notified via email up to an hour before the start of class. Be sure to have your notifications turned on! No confirmation email means you are not booked in the class.

Q: Do I need to bring shoes or socks to class?

Shoes must be removed at the front entrance of the studio. Socks must be worn for all Reformer classes for hygiene purposes, and grippy socks are highly encouraged. For Mat classes, you’re free to wear socks or go barefoot, whatever is most comfortable for you.

Q: Uh oh, Im running late! Will I be able to get into the class?

We get it! This is New York City. The late trains, traffic jams, and everything else in between, make it hard to get around — which is precisely why we have created a safe space to drown out those tense triggers, and focus on our bodies, and minds. In order for our studio to maintain the space as a distraction free environment, we lock our doors five minutes after class begins.

It is crucial for our instructors to adhere to this policy, as it is both disruptive to our intimate room, as well as potentially unsafe. Our instructors check in with every client, every class (even the regulars) to be notified of any injuries or impairments. Skipping, or rushing through this step due to tardiness isn't ideal. If you are running late, and miss the five minute grace period, this is considered a no show. Please note, emailing about late arrival status does not offset our no show fee.

Q: Im sorry, but I just cant make it. What if I have to cancel?

We understand that life can be unpredictable. Thank you for honoring our 12 hour cancellation policy for all bookings, put in place out of respect for our instructors and waitlisted clients. All cancellations or changes must be managed online. This includes the waitlist.

To cancel, log in to your Momence account via the app or web browser.
